Itinerary

• Day 1

We meet up at the Grand Canyon National Park no later than 6pm. Once everyone is settled, we have our group dinner at the Maswik Foodcourt (or another location) to carb up for the trip and to discuss final plans for the next day. I will be doing backpack checks after dinner to ensure they are packed well and set up for your height. We plan on going to sleep very early since we'll be getting up super early for our Rim to Rim the next day.

• Day 2

We need to be at the South Kaibab trailhead and ready to go at 4am sharp! So wake up call should be 2:30am. Once we are all set and ready, we'll be taking the Blue Bus to the visitor center. We then switch to another bus, Orange, that will take us to the trailhead. We start our decent at 4am. We'll make a few small 4min stops for snacking until we reach our first long stop at Phantom Ranch. We stay here for about 15-20min. This will be our first big meal and recovery.

After 7 miles, our next stop will be Cottonwood Campground. This will be our next big stop to make any adjustments to our gear and clothing. After a good meal, we are off and the accent begins towards the North Rim for the next 7 miles. This is the part that all the training and preparation pays off. Working together as a team, we will push and maintain a good pace to get out of the canyon around 6pm. Once on top, after a few cheers and celebration dancing, we will try to get some help from the local hikers to drive us to the hotel 3 miles away or we have to walk. Those will be our only options.

• Day 3

After the best sleep of your life, we have two options on the times we take the shuttle back to the South Rim village. The shuttle picks up at 7am (getting back to South Rim at 11:30am) or 2pm (getting back to South Rim 6:30pm) This will determine the plans for this day.
