Itinerary

• Day 1

We first need to take the shuttle from the South Rim to North Rim. The shuttle leaves at 8 am from the Grand Canyon South Rim village. Our recommendation is to book a room either inside the Grand Canyon National Park or near the hotel so that you are all set to go the next day to take the shuttle in the early morning. The shuttle arrives on the North Rim Lodging at 12:30 pm. Once you are all settled in, we will meet up around 2 pm to review our game plan for our Rim to Rim the next day. Once I've checked everyone's backpacks, then you are free to enjoy the rest of the day and enjoy the amazing North Rim! I recommend going to sleep around 6-7 pm to give yourself around 8 hours of sleep. We wake up at 2 am the next day.

• Day 2

We need to be at the North Rim trailhead and ready to go at 4 am sharp! So the wake-up call should be 2 am. Once we are all set and ready, we'll be meeting at the main lodging entrance at 3 am. We'll be taking the taxi to the trailhead. We start our descent at 4 am. We'll make a few small 5min stops for snacking until we reach our first long stop at Phantom Ranch. We stay here for about 15-20min. This will be our first big meal and recovery.

After 7 miles, our first stop will be Cottonwood Campground. We will use this quick stop to rest the knees, feet and make any adjustments to your backpack. This stop will last about 10min. Our next stop will be Phantom Ranch which is 7 miles away. This will be our biggest stop to really rest up. We are off after a good meal, and the accent begins towards the South Rim 9.3 miles away. Finally, we will make our last big stop at Indian Garden. We will have another big meal and rest up for our final push up Bright Angel trailhead to the rim 4.3 miles. This is the part that all the training and preparation pay off. Working together, we will push and maintain a good pace to get out of the canyon around 4 pm. Once on top, after a few cheers and celebration dancing, you are free to enjoy the South Rim village while you brag about your accomplishment!
